Alexandra Kane

2022 Black Community Achievement Award
Alexandra Kane is a singer, actor and theatre director and teacher. She is a founding member of the Black London Network (BLN). As lead organizer of the  Black Lives Matter London (BLM), she was instrumental in the largest race march in London.


Arielle Kayabaga

2022 Black Community Achievement Award

Arielle Kayabaga is a young Canadian politician who has made a name for herself as a strong advocate for housing, equity, and inclusion for all Canadians especially those marginalised. She is a trailblazer: the first Black woman elected to London City Council and the first Black woman to represent London in the House of Commons.

London Cross Cultural Learner Centre was one of our founding partners. They have supported the work of the London Black History Coordinating Committee including providing space for meetings and storage, administrative and financial support among others.


Museum London

2022 Community Partner Award

Museum London, under the leadership of Executive Director Brian Meehan, has been one of the London Black History Coordinating Committees(LBHCC) founding partners since the committee’s inception 20 years ago. Museum London has facilitated events and film festivals, curated exhibitions, and developed online and print publications. The first event held at Museum London was the Black History month Opening Celebration in 2002, and they have been the host venue for every in person Opening Celebration since.
